In support of the core business of the university, the Department of Academic Administration provides academic administrative support to academic staff, students and the general public on all 4 campuses in Port Elizabeth through a wide range of activities which include: academic application and admission, registration process, planning and generation of lecture timetables, running of examinations, graduation planning, faculty administration, student records, student systems support and training, publication of annual general and faculty prospectuses, and drafting and publication of the annual academic calendar.
The department consists of 4 sections, namely, Admissions, Examinations, Faculty Administration and Timetabling, and Student Systems and Records. The main hubs of the Admissions Section (Embizweni Building), Central Timetabling Office (Main Building, 12th Floor), and Student Systems Section (Main Building 17th Floor) are situated on the South Campus, while the main hub of the Examinations Section is situated on the North Campus (Heinz Betz), however all services are available on all of the 4 campuses, namely, Missionvale, North, Second Avenue, and South. We aim to continuously improve the quality of our services in order to meet the ever increasing needs of our stakeholders.
